Album

That's Why God Made the Radio is the twenty-ninth studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on June 5, 2012 on Capitol Records. Produced by Brian Wilson, the album was recorded to coincide with the band's 50th anniversary. It is their first album to feature original material since Summer in Paradise in 1992, their first album to feature guitarist and backing vocalist David Marks since Little Deuce Coupe in 1963, and their first album since the 1998 death of co-founder Carl Wilson. Текст песни: Tuning in the latest star From the dashboard of my car Cruisin' at 7, push button heaven Capturing memories from Boys - Thats Why God Made The Radio Live 5912 Beacon New York City Whole Perfect HD Show - Продолжительность: 3:38. 45 видео Воспроизвести все The Beach Boys - 50 Big Ones: Greatest HitsChad Vice. Plans for the Beach Boys' 50th anniversary tour came together surprisingly quickly, but nothing prepared fans for a full studio album just six months after their official reunion. Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys havent made a record together in 16 years, but their music feels more present than ever. Last years release of The Smile Sessions, which documented Wilsons unfinished late-Sixties masterpiece, was a major event, as was Wilsons 2004 version of Smile. In this way, the album plays like another episode in the longtime struggle between Mike Loves fun-in-the-sun agenda and Wilsons grander, darker themes. Its part class reunion, part Requiem for a Beach Boy. Part of a 50th-anniversary reunion that includes a world tour, Thats Why God Made the Radio is, to some degree, a sugary, brand-claiming nostalgiafest. Being that I'm a massive fan of The Beach Boys, I approached their newest album with great trepidation. After all, only seven months prior marked the triumphant release of The SMiLE Sessions, the mythical album that actually lived up to and even exceeded the years of anticipation built up behind it finally seeing the light of day. I didn't want anything to lessen that accomplishment. More than that, I guess I just didn't want to see Brian Wilson embarrass himself this late in the game. Which is why it honestly pleases me to say that, while their new album is obviously no Pet. Classic Rock. The Beach Boys. Songs in album The Beach Boys - That's Why God Made The Radio 2012. The Beach Boys - Think About The Days. The Beach Boys - That's Why God Made The Radio. The Beach Boys - Isn't It Time. The Beach Boys - Spring Vacation. The Beach Boys - The Private Life Of Bill And Sue. The Beach Boys - Shelter. The Beach Boys - Daybreak Over The Ocean. The Beach Boys - Beaches In Mind. The Beach Boys - Strange World. The Beach Boys' music has often involved a suspension of disbelief all those songs depicting a perfect, gilded California youth, written by a man whose own youth had been mired in physical and mental abuse but this seems to push unreality to its limit. You find yourself wondering why on earth a 71-year-old would be cruisin' the town and diggin' the scene: perhaps he's plannin' on askin' them to keep the noise down so an old man can get some rest. Perhaps without realising it, That's Why God Made the Radio tells you almost everything you need to know about America's Favourite Band. Beach Boys. Unfortunately, the reunited Beach Boys line-up that resulted in this fine comeback album proved to be short-lived thanks to the one and only Michael Edward Love who somehow feels that HIS bogus version of the Beach Boys with Bruce Johnston along for the ride is more important than the real thing. Halfway through last year's 50th anniversary tour, Love announced he and Johnston would be leaving the group to resume touring with their own line-up WITHOUT Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, and original guitarist David Marks who rejoined the band for this album. 0 out of 5 stars That's Why God made the Beachboys.
