My copy (44/171) has the labels attached to the wrong sides. So the side designations are actually the opposite. How about your copies?
I think you just don't understand the universe of Novy Svet, it's maybe just a band not for you, no ? For me it's one of the most creative band since 20 years in underground industrial/neo folk scene. Nobody sound like them, it's something totaly new, very creative, very original, always in evolution, each album surpises me, it's always a new musical travel. How many bands actually can do this ?
For me, this is one of the more interesting bands in the recent history of industrial music. I especially like their collaborations with Ô Paradis. I don't know if they're the most original band ever, but they certainly have an atmosphere of their own.
I don't say they are the only one, I said "one of the most" ;) after don't worry I listen many things and I try to be open , but I do not find many group interesting these last years, it is personal, of course, but the industrial scene goes round in circles for me. We are far away of the explosion of the 80ies.Now the industrial scene is too often summarized in a labtop ..
To each its own taste, but be sure of something, no one sounds like no one, a clever redundance that solves the entire discussion beforehand, and if what you mean is that they are the most original band in the Industrial/underground/whatever you truly have to listen more music.
Some very badly recorded, roughly assembled and slovenly performed "music". I personally never understood whether Novy Svet's records were intended to be a joke, or they did actually take themselves seriously. Well, the Viennese duo promoted the aesthetics of drinking red wine and being unable to play, with some funnily enjoyable results and a lot of forgettable ones. This LP and their first two CDs contain their best moments, anything that came afterwards is, to me at least, unnecessary.P.S: I doubt Commander D'Annunzio would appreciate this lack of taste and elegance... to visit his home at the Vittoriale degli Italiani, please choose something else. A personal suggestion: Italian band IANVA.
One thing i give for granted, Nurse with wound is a fart these days, i think Stapleton got senile after all his psychedelic trips and lives only from the resonance of his better works, so ramdom through his discography that are very difficult to characterize as a consequence of good music or just plain luck.
enfantterrible Perhaps you are right. And perhaps not. Only D'Annunzio himself would know. We all speculate here.
Leaving aside the philosophical mumbo-jumbo, Novy Svet is a project, that you will either like, or dislike..No in betweens here. The same goes for projects like Nurse W Wound, that i never managed to grasp the creativity in what they do..Totaly meanigless to me, throughout the years, with some good moments here and there, in between superfluous reviews from "critics"..But i do like Novy Svet, very much no matter what..It just happens. And i do know this..I have seen both projects live, and each one of them is in my top favourite live performances of all times..Whether i like them or not.
That is just pure speculation and nothing more and you know it Dalakouras. Ianva is way better than Novy Svet musically speaking plus they have placed an extensive and cult narration on Italy's History & Soul (caps included) something that D´annunzio would have highly appreciated . Even though I appreciate some Novy Svet i wouldnt dare to say a radical conservative born before XX century would have understood such a thing without feeling some nausea.
The fact that when one listens to Novy Svet he/she may ponder on D'Annunzio, when to Turbund Sturmwerk on Heidegger, when to Genocide Organ on Nietzsche, when to Der Blutharsch on Goebbels, when to Actus on Hamvas, when to Coil on Crowley (and so on), does not mean that the aforementionted gentlemen would appreciate the music of these bands. Quite the contrary. PS. By the way, since you spoke of taste and elegance, D'Annunzio would find Ianva as cacophonus and hectic as Novy Svet. Bach and Vivaldi only, please.
Glorious decadence and ironic melancholy, the perfect soundtrack for a visit to D'Annunzio's 'Vittoriale degli Italiani'.
