Brian Eno, formerly of Roxy Music, is another one who writes weird songs but their weirdness is more silly than puzzling. Instead of playing soothing electronic songs Here Comes the Warm Jets is a rowdy, piercing, and an occasionally soothing album. Eno casually pre-empts whole musical genres by 20 years with tracks like the titular Here Come the Warm Jets, dips into 50s rock and roll and even rips into his old bandmate in hilariously catty fashion Dead Finks Dont Talk. Others will hopefully join with this writer in taking exception to this insane divergence of styles and wish that the next time Eno makes an album, he will attempt to structure his work rather than throw together the first ten things that come to mind. It was recorded and produced by Eno following his departure from the band Roxy Music, and blends glam and pop stylings with avant-garde approaches. Want more Rolling Stone Sign up for our newsletter. While you may not respect it as much as other Eno albums Here Come the Warm Jets is a bizarre, quirky, sloppy, post-punk mess but it sure is fun while it lasts. I suppose I didn't make things very clear, which is my mistake. Let's say it in a few words. There's definitely no need to have this Re-issue compared to the UK first press. The UK first press beats this one.
Knights from Bernin
Curious as to the differences between the two...care to comment?
Mildorah
Does anyone else have a pressing where there is this low looping echo between tracks A1 and A2? Mine has this audible sound in-between the tracks.
Ishnsius
excellent release.i think after the original this pressing is the best to buy, maybe the sound quality of this edition is equal or better than the original!highly reccommended!!!
Perius
download code only gets you a cd rip in .wav
Yalone
I thought someone from the Hoffman forums did a waveform comparison and confirmed that they weren’t the DSD versions?
MisterMax
I think the distinction here is that the download codes are rips from the mid-2000s CDs and not from the new remastering as used on the LPs.
Bludworm
you should mark this as a joke... Wav is more worthful than a simple mp3...
Modigas
Getting a WAV file "only" is great (for me anyway). I'd much rather have a WAV instead of an mp3. You can convert it to anything you need. I would prefer 24 bit wav but...you can't have everything. I'd rather have the quality of the WAV than the conveinience of some lower quailty format.

Finally, a remaster worth the effort! Having owned this in various formats since first being given a pre-recorded tape as a teenager, it's nothing short of amazing, how much brighter and more detailed this new version sounds. Earlier versions, and even the remastered tracks that made it onto the Eno Box sets, have always suffered IMO from an excess of warmth/tape saturation, which tended to smother the dense instrumentation. I can imagine how great it all sounded in 1973, but it hasn't aged well, and this remastering lives up to the hype, stripping some thick varnish away, and bringing in some much needed space, light and clarity to the arrangements, and now Blank Frank has been reborn, good job! Nice pressing too, heavy and flat and plays beautifully. A lyric sheet would have been a nice touch, but you can't have everything, apparently...

same issue with all of them i'm afraid. Worst affected appears to be taking tiger mountain

I just opened my copy today and was pretty bummed to hear some really bizarre audio inconsistencies. For the most part, the record sounds amazing, the upper frequencies in particular sizzle with shimmering beauty. The problem I'm finding is that certain tracks have a sort of 'cutting in-and-out' of the instrumental tracks. It's the strangest thing because Eno's voice remains totally clear, while the drums and guitar will sort of sputter underneath. I thought I was maybe just hearing it wrong as I'm not so familiarwith the recording, so I cross-referenced it with both spotify and the download wav files. Both digital copies sound great and totallyflawless. I'm wondering if you have heard anything like this on your copy? Tracks to check would be Driving Me Backwards and DeadFinks Don't Talk. I purchased all 4 reissues and have yet to only listen to Warm Jets. I'm really hoping this strange audio abnormality doesn't affect the other 3 records, as they were quite expensive. If you happen to notice the same issue it would be good to hear from you. Cheers.

on the other hand you got a certification about the mastering instead of a lyric sheet, but I am agree to you, a nice lyric sheet would the extra extra for this fantastic produktion...
