Day of the Dead is the twenty-fifth compilation release benefiting the Red Hot Organization, an international charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV and AIDS. John Carlin, the founder of the Red Hot Organization, was the executive. The Day of the Dead is an album by composer Graham Collier featuring his composition to accompany the writings of Malcolm Lowry which was originally released on his own Mosaic label in 1978 as a double LP. Collier's vision here is focused, intense, and spiritually charged by Lowry's work. This is not some. Beast Coast - Escape From New of the Dead serves a variety of purposes, and at its best engenders genuinely fresh perspectives combined with excellent performances. Like many a Dead show, it doesnt always hit the mark, but unexpected magic emerges often enough to make the whole operation worthwhile: over here, a spooked Lee RanaldoLisa Harrigan duet on Mountains of the Moon over there, Bela Flecks banjofied Help on the WaySlipknot drawing the connections between Garcias mid-70s prog period and his own. The album is really good, but would have been better if the band had used more keyboards in the songs to increase the atmospheric resonance. That said, I truly love this band and hope they continue making music for many years to come. Favorite track: Moonlight. The Dead have waited. The day has come. I saw DAY OF THE DEAD at a drive-in the second half of the double bill was DAWN OF THE DEAD which I'd seen a dozen times by then, most often at midnight showings. I was stunned. DAY OF THE DEAD was as tight and as dramatic and as frightening as anything I'd ever seen. Although I'd championed Romero's movies in the pages of magazines like Famous Monsters of Filmland, Fantastic Films and Fangoria for years, I was totally blown away by the savvy evinced in DAY OF THE DEAD. This five-plus hour, 59 track Grateful Dead tribute album is a monument of living history an image of their golden road branching out endlessly. Curated by Brooklyn indie-rock luminaries the National, it conspicuously slights the. the disco-era Shakedown Street or arty pop duo Lucius lovingly turning the eternal set-a-spell strum-along Uncle Johns Band into pretty synth-pop, etc. Listening to it all you cant help but be amazed that there was a time not long ago when people who didnt know better still derisively associated the Grateful Dead with a specific Sixties-holdover hippie culture. A set like this helps lay that cliché even deeper under the peat. Reggie Edwards from gave the album 9. 5 out of a total 10 mentioning that Hollywood Undead have completely outdone themselves yet again. He also mentioned that Day of the Dead is the perfect encapsulating of the bands entire career. Finally, he said: When this record releases, its best for you to just welcome in this new chapter of Hollywood Undeads career because its a damn impressive one and its time to enter into the Day
