Believe is the twenty-second solo studio album by American singer and actress Cher, released on October 22, 1998, by WEA and Warner Bros. Following the failure of her previous studio album It's a Man's World 1995, her record company encouraged her to record a dance-oriented album. Cher started working on the album in the spring of 1998 with English producers Mark Taylor and Brian Rawling at the Dreamhouse Studios in London. The album was dedicated to her former husband Sonny Bono, who had. Cher's Believe album was released in 1998 and features Cher's smash hit Believe. Believe is the twenty-second studio album by American singer-actress Cher, first released on October 22, 1998 by WEA and distributed in North America by Warner Bros. Following the failure of her previous studio album It's a Man's World, her record company encouraged her to return to the studio to pursue a new musical direction. Recording took place over the summer at the Dreamhouse Studios in London and the Soundworks Studios in New York under the guidance of English producers Mark Taylor and. I can feel something inside me say I really don't think you're strong enough, no Do you believe in life after love I can feel something inside me say I really don't think you're strong enough, no What am I supposed to do Sit around and wait for you Well, I can't do that And there's no turning back I need time to move on I need love to feel strong 'Cause I've had time to think it through And maybe I'm too good for you, oh Do you believe in life after love I can feel something inside me say I really don't think you're strong enough, no D. Working with a stable of competent European studio craftsmen, Cher herself merely moves through the beat factory with one drab vocal range, blending butt-shakers like the title tune and Strong Enough and semi-ballads Dov'e L'Amore into one endless, and personality-free, thump session. Anyone could have been signed on as the voice in front of these generic tracks which at times slip into glossy, overproduced late-'80s plastic Cher brings only her name and star clout, no soul whatsoever. The 90's equivalent of "bad" dance music. "Disco Duck" might be a good example of Bad 70's dance music. (although I would take that song any day over "Believe")FAR better things to explore in dance music than pop drivel like this IMO.
Can we check the CD, Single, CD1 UK and European release again for duplicate? both are shown two times above..
Prolly my least favorite song in the last 20 years.
I thought it was putrid then. Now even worse. Plus this is the song that introduced the dreaded “autotune” effect to the world.
This was allegedly the first release to feature the much-maligned autotune vocoder effect, a crime against humanity later committed by numerous other shameless bastards, including The Youngsters and Silicone Soul, to mention just two acts that should know better. Actually not surprised to see that sorry outfit Club 69 remixing this pile of offensive garbage. And why anyone would want to own a release with 10 mixes of this is a mystery.
REENO "I never cared for Cher as a vocalist either".Yet here you are on a Cher release being negative. Do you purposely go looking for things you don't like so that you can rain on other people's parade? (Rhetorical question - The answer is obvious)
The Grammy’s are a popularity contest, not a musical creativity contest.
Seriously?? It’s a contrived, generic-sounding dance-pop song which gave us something that still has infected every other pop/rap song since—AUTOTUNE. I never cared for Cher as a vocalist either.
Oh dear. Poor you. If you can't find any joy in a song like "Believe" there's something wrong with you. To even feel a need to pile scorn on something which is so upbeat and joyful makes you sound like a real party pooper. Lighten up!
The fact that Club 69 won a Grammy Award for his remix work on this track shows that Peter wasn't a joke producer.
It's an awesome song, screw you hater.
