Album

Third Stage is the third studio album by American hard rock band Boston, released on September 23, 1986 on MCA Records. It was recorded at musician Tom Scholz's Hideaway Studio over a long, strained six-year period between floods and power failures. Scholz and Brad Delp, the group's vocalist, were the only individuals that remained in the group from its original line-up. In terms of lyrics, the release invokes the themes of aging and working through differing 'stages' in one's life. Lead single. John III English, Tom Scholz. Boston - Third Stage 1986. Stage became Boston's second and final No. 1 album as well, going four-times platinum along the way. That provided plenty of momentum for a resulting tour, which then set the stage for Boston's next era. Delp and Scholz were joined on the road by bassist David Sikes, drummer Doug Huffman and second guitarist Gary Phil, forming a lineup that remained solidly in place into the early '90s. We turned a corner for performing at that point, Scholz told Goldmine. Listen free to Boston Third Stage Amanda, We're Ready and more. 10 tracks 35:07. After rushing their second album Don't Look Back, Boston took eight years to complete the album Third Stage. The long delay is even more surprising considering that their sound didn't change at all even though only songwriterguitarist Tom Scholz and vocalist Brad Delp remained from the original lineup, they were the ones responsible for Boston's sound. As such, it is difficult to avoid comparisons with their landmark debut. The Launch A Countdown B Ignition C Third Stage Separation - Boston. Another awesome album by Boston, so why leave it so long to add it to my collection Another truly immense album, with the soaring vocals and multi-layered guitars that no-one comes close to matching. Every song is a winner, and every solo will take your breath away, whether it's the guitar, or mighty Hammond organ. Boston Third Stage My hubby's a Boston fan and says this CD is fantastic and hasn't got any of the ones that are on here. Read more. It took Tom Scholz 6 years to produce Boston's third album, Third Stage. This album was recorded as always at Tom's Hideaway Studio. It also utilized the Rockman, an invention of Scholz's that produced the Boston Sound without the 100 watt stacks and pedals. I will split the review of this album into a mini-review for each song. Amanda In Tom's words, Amanda was the first. This track was the first written, in 1980 and 1981. It is probably the most popular and recognizable song on the entire album. This is a slower song than most fans of Boston's earlier albums were used to, but it became their biggest hit yet with it's memorable guitar intro and chorus
