Initially limited to 100 copies on Boards of Canada's own Music70 label, 1995's Twoism EP set a high standard for future BoC output - though only the few willing to pay silly money for it were able to hear for themselves until Warp quietly reissued it on CD at the tail end of 2002. For those trying to compare it to the full-length debut Music Has the Right to Children, it holds up surprisingly well granted, two tracks here were only slightly reworked for later release. The Boards' cassette-only sonic limitations are the most telltale sign of the times that produced Twoism. While Directine showcases the particular sense of disembodiment the duo induces, with synths floating and kicks to give it that sense of propulsion, the individual, isolated hits are distorted and fuzzy, muddying the overall effect. Déjà vu is not necessarily a bad thing, and Twoism contains signs of refinement beyond its place as Stonehenge simplicity to underscore the Paul Lafoley complexity Boards reached by the time of Geogaddi. Boards of Canada are a Scottish electronic music duo consisting of brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin. Signing to Skam and then Warp Records in the 1990s, the duo received recognition following the release of their debut album Music Has the Right to Children in 1998. Their subsequent albums, Geogaddi 2002, The Campfire Headphase 2005 and Tomorrow's Harvest 2013, have received critical praise. Twoism is a music album by Boards Of Canada released in 1995. Got my copy today, really happy to add this one to the collection. The record itself has no crackling sound but is a bit bubbly.

Anyone else have a little scratch on Oirectine, before it kicks in properly?Kinda clicks for about 30 seconds.

I have this pressing. It's not flawless but has does not have the issue you mention. I'm happy with my copy. Hope you found a good one - great music.

Fantastic album as usual by BOC, but unfortunately my copy of this not-so-great repress I ordered off of here a several years ago was also disappointingly rather beat-up with several scruffs & hairlines on both sides, thus as a result, it causes quite a bit of surface noise as well a few annoying pops & crackles on both sides. Not sure if it's a pressing plant error or what, but it didn't help matters as the downright rude, condescending bastard (who went by the name of brainfart) that sold me on it here literally flat-out lied and labeled the vinyl as being near-mint or very good plus + at least (from what I remember) when it definitely wasn't. Then actually had the nerve to retaliate for no apparent reason by talking all kinds of shit and giving me a preposterous negative rating when I did nothing but honestly called him out for his shit since he purposely ripped me off... but before that, he also straight-up threatened to cancel my order keep after I had already paid for it saying that "there were plenty of other places where I could order this at" when all I did was ask him 'how long it would take to ship the record?' Smh I hope nobody else has encountered a similar problem like this.

Mine is fine although Campfire side C and D are horrible, lower volume than A and B and lots of audbile pops.
Winotterin
No, it's actually a physical scratch. Trust me, my setup is perfect.I think I just got a small imperfection.
Fearlesssinger
I do not hear nothing on my copy. All good. Check your rig and your cartridge. It must be unbalanced

My copy of In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country is perfect. Trans Canada Highway has some audible ticks on the ambient sections, but the vinyl shows no marks.I'm actually yet to get the 3 LP reissues due to some distro problem in Montreal, but once I do I will let you know.
