Посмотреть сведения об участниках альбома, рецензии, композиции и приобрести альбом Vinyl от Emperor Concerto на January 1927 Wilhelm Backhaus recorded the Emperor Concerto with the Royal Albert Hall Orchestra under Landon Ronald. Backhaus would make stereo recordings of all five concertos with Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt and Vienna Philharmonic in the late 1950s. In March 1927 Ignaz Friedman recorded the Emperor Concerto with the New Queen's Hall Orchestra under Henry Wood, but this recording no longer exists. In the early 1930s Artur Schnabel recorded all five Beethoven concertos under Sir Malcolm Sargent and the London Symphony Orchestra. Edwin Fischer recorded it with Karl Böhm in 1939 and Wilhel. Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat major, Op. 73 'Emperor'. Hans Schmidt- Isserstedt was a great conductor from german old school and a magnificent Beethoven performer. This album includes perhaps the best Violin Concerto available with Szeryng and a superb LSO and regarding the symphonies, it has arguably one of the best 9th's ever put on record. This is my first recommendation for Beethoven. Read more. December 18, 2014: Schmidt-Isserstedt's Vienna Philharmonic Beethoven WAS a bargain in 2005, but has since been deleted for sale in the United States, Hence the outrageously high price over 600 for a used or new set from various dealers. Schmidt-Isserstedts straightforward, sober interpretations strike a happy medium between the formal, unvarnished Teutonic styles of Klemperer and Barenboim and the astringent classicism typical of Toscanini, Szell, and at times, Böhm. Standouts include a highly distinct, stylishly taut Eroica , an expansive, fluent Pastorale , an assertive, powerfully projected Fourth, and a Leonore No. 3 that positively sizzles with drama.
